Hillsborough County Recording Fees

Payment is to be made at the time of recording.
Return postage to be added to each document.
Checks should be made payable to Hillsborough County Registry of Deeds

SURCHARGE ON DOCUMENTS
$2 Surcharge is imposed on all documents including plans according to NH RSA 478:17-j and should be included with recording fees.
$25 State LCHIP surcharge fee in a separate check due on each deed, mortgage, mortgage discharge, and plan set recorded under RSA 478:17g,I-a(a),
Effective July 1, 2008.

ASSIGNMENTS OF MORTGAGES
$10 for the first assignment per recorded document

$5 for each subsequent mortgage being assigned

COMPLETE DISCHARGE OF MORTGAGE & LIENS

$15 for each additional complete discharge

PLANS
A. 8 ½ x 11 = $ 9
B. 11 X 17 = $ 9
C. 17 X 22 = $ 14
D. 22 X 34 = $ 24

Plans must be on reproducible material other than paper and drawn with permanent black ink and
conform to the plat standards if drawn after January 1, 2005

All plans must have a minimum of 1/2 inch margin on all sides.

TRANSFER TAX
A tax of $15 per thousand is imposed upon the sale, granting or transfer of real estate and any interest
therein except where the price or consideration is $4,000 or less, there shall be a minimum of $40.
An exemption from the transfer tax must be clearly stated on the deed being recorded.
